UPDATE 10 Dec 2020: SAVE THE DATE. After unfortunately cancelling the 2020 Annual Scientific Meeting due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we have now rescheduled it for the same weekend next year: Friday – Sunday 28-30 May 2021. All other details will remain the same – the venue remains the Sheraton Mirage on the Gold Coast. Registration will go active early in the new year.
We are also working on a new way of renewing your membership within our ASDA website if you don’t come to the Annual Scientific Meeting. As we have done in previous years, you will still be able to renew your membership with your conference registration as well.
We will restart sedation reendorsement courses in 2021.
You will have seen that we were granted a waiver from the DBA regarding reendorseent in 2021 due to the pandemic.
Kind regards,
Rob Turnbull Conference Coordinator

Friday & Saturday: ASDA Sedation Reendorsement Program (CPD: 12 Scientific Hours)
Since 2016, all ASDA Sedation Reendorsement courses have consisted of 2 days : being a blend of skills refresher workshops, and simulated medical emergencies.
Can you implement BLS/ALS and ABCD protocols in an emergency? These workshops will develop the practical skills and knowledge to recognise and manage the deteriorating patient and medical emergencies. Designed to prepare participants for the simulations, but also very useful if you are operating on sedated patients or have already done your re-endorsement elsewhere to improve your performance in future emergencies.
The ultimate immersive experience with hi-fidelity simulation of medical emergencies to improve performance, teamwork and communications during emergencies.
This is an accredited refresher course for AHPRA re-endorsement of intravenous dental sedationists. (Limited to 36 participants)
Sunday: Annual Scientific Meeting (CPD: Scientific Hours) : 8am – 12.30pm
The program for the Annual Scientific meeting is coming, and includes essential updates on pharmacology, patient management, emergency management, and regulations and is your best opportunity for CPD in Sedation in Australia.
Remember, if you are practising sedation, you need to be doing CPD in sedation!
